Position Summary:

  • The Computer Systems Analyst (CSA) II, Signal/G6/S6 Trainer, at the Fort Hood Warrior Skills Training Center (WSTC), will be supporting a Collective Training Team designed to coach/mentor/integrate a U.S. Army Division, Brigade or Battalion Signal Section on Command Post Operations, and the Management of Tactical Information.  They will be involved in all aspects of development, set-up, operation, troubleshooting and systems maintenance of Army gaming technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Power up, troubleshoot, repair, and power down systems, to include: Virtual Battle Space, Tactical Site Simulation (TSS), LaserShot Tactical Weapons System (TWS) and Small Unit Marksmanship Trainer. 
  • Be proficient in related Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS). 
  • Conduct all aspects of networking to include cabling, setup and testing.
  • As required, perform necessary database preparation steps prior to operations and perform necessary file maintenance during and after exercises. 
  • Initialize systems to prepare for each training session mission. 
  • Quickly and effectively troubleshoot systems to correct problems.
  • Familiar with projectors, communication systems, and the After Action Reviews planning and process.
  • If required, teach each rotation of Soldiers how to operate the equipment to effectively conduct training. 
  • Be familiar with current doctrine, tactics, equipment, weapons and procedures of the US Forces.
  • Display the analytical ability to recognize challenges and opportunities and nearly simultaneously formulate workable solutions. 
  • Provide analytical and technical support to projects involving training to include; create, refine tactical/operational documentation, military simulation systems design or other efforts requiring a combination of military operations and simulation expertise.
  • Lead a functional team in the planning, execution of unit led simulation training events.

Experience and Credentials :

  • Possesses administrator knowledge of VBS, AGM and Windows 2007 server operating systems.
  • Familiar with the basic operation of Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) system.
  • Possesses the ability to work multiple projects /tasks; interface with multiple contractors, Government, and US military personnel.
  • US citizen and possess and maintain a US Secret clearance.
  • Availability to work extended hours including nights & weekends.
  • Availability to travel to and work at a temporary duty location both CONUS and OCONUS 2-4 times per year for up to 2 weeks per trip.
  • Must be a disciplined worker capable of meeting short suspense’s without intense supervision.
  • FEMA Independent Study Courses: IS-75, IS-100.b, IS-200.b, IS-700.a, IS-800.b are required (These courses must be completed within a specified timeframe upon hire, dependent upon the contract schedule, generally within 120 days. IS-120.a, IS-130, IS-230.d are suggested)
  • Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • In accordance with DoD 8570.01 and DoDD 8140.01 “Cyberspace Workforce Management” ; Candidate must meet the Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level I requirements  by having ONE of the following certifications: A+, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP,  CCNA-Sec, Cissp, Cisa, CASP, GCIH, GSEC, or GCED.
  • Must possess and maintain current SECRET level security clearance.
  • All candidates are required to pass a drug screening, criminal history check, and credit check PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds in weight.
