As a Junior Web Developer you will serve as a member of the well-established Software Development Team responsible for developing and maintaining web-based applications in support of unmanned rocket launches from the Eastern Range (Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL) and the Western Range (Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA). Candidate must have strong understanding and experience with Classic ASP and will be involved with migration/conversion and transitioning from Classic ASP to current or modern ASP.NET scripting language as well as the following responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Essential Functions:

  • Assists Project Managers, Software Architects, Clients and other Application Developers in requirements gathering, analysis, design, and project planning for software application development.
  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Performs moderately complex modification, testing, and debugging tasks on vendor supplied utilities and packages to ensure fit with current operating environment.
  • Design, code, and maintain complex applications to ensure applications are efficient and updated on a regular basis.
  • Develops and implements web parts and customization of SharePoint Sites leveraging Visual Studio and .NET technologies to include non-standard functionality.
  • Implements new features and optimizes existing functionality in applications based on business requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, test plan reviews, and documentation reviews.
  • Develop and implement test plans for new and existing applications/functionality based on requirements.
  • Review and edit program and user documentation for applications developed within the department to ensure that customer access to product is efficient and user-friendly.
  • Develop and maintains project plans, requirements and design documents, and other system documentation.
  • Develop and maintain work procedures and instructions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Master’s degree is desirable
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience developing software applications with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Requires current Security+ or CISSP certification or be able to obtain and maintain one of these certifications within 6 months of employment
  • Requires significant recent experience with the following:

 - .NET 4.x Framework (C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, VB.NET)

- Entity Framework - AngularJS - SQL Server 2008/2012 (T-SQL Query, Stored Procedure development and optimization)

- HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery

- Team Foundation Server –

 Web Services (RESTful or Web API), XML 8/27/2021 2/2

  • Requires experience with defect tracking processes and tools, and with source code version control processes and tools
  • Requires solid understanding of object-oriented programming in an n-tier architecture
  • Requires significant recent experience with two or more of the following:

- Windows Presentation Foundation

- SharePoint 2013

- Service Oriented Architecture

- Agile methodologies

 - Telerik Controls

  • Requires occasional adjusted work hours (nights, weekends, holidays) to meet important product delivery deadlines and to support launches
  • Occasional local travel may be required
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. Naturalization
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license is required
